Mexico enacts new Quality Infrastructure Law
On 1 July 2020, Mexico officially published its new Quality Infrastructure Law, which abrogates the Federal Law on Metrology and Standardisation. The new Law will come into effect 60 days after publication.

Mexico approves new accreditation body
The General Bureau of Standards (DGN, in Spanish) approved on May 6th, Mexicana de Acreditación (MAAC, A.C.) as a new accreditation body. Until 2020, and for 21 years, the Mexican Accreditation Body (Entidad Mexicana de Acreditación, EMA) was the only authorized accreditation entity in the country.

The Bureau of Indian Standards shifts to online test reports for Compulsory Registration Scheme
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) announced that test requests to the laboratories for the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) will only be accepted online from 1 June 2020 onward.
